Fishing Indian Lake Ohio is terrific. According to Fishing Ohio: An Angler's Guide to Over 200 Fishing Spots in the Buckeye StateBy Tom Cross, Indian Lake is the top saugeye in central Ohio and also have the biggest bluegill in the state. Saugeye, largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, bluegill, walleye, yellow perch, and catfish are plentiful and attract both sports fisherman and tournaments. These include USA Bassin (http://usabassin.com/),Walmart Bass Fishing League BFL(http://flw.flwoutdoors.com), Bassmaster Weekend Tournaments (http://www.americanbassanglers.com/) just to name a few.

Camping is also popular at Indian Lake Ohio. With nearly 4000 public and private campsites available, Indian Lake has become an important destination for families. The Indian Lake State Park offers over 400 electric camp sites. The park offers many amenities including heated shower houses, flush toilets, boat camping, beach, laundry facility, camp commissary , boat ramp boat , seasonal naturalist program, playgrounds, miniature golf, basketball and volleyball, bicycle and boat rental, games and sporting equipment , group camp area. ThePark also offers a Nature center, and Sand volleyball courts at the beach

There are miles of both natural walking trails and paved bike trails around the lake. These include Pew Island trail, Cherokee Trail, and the West Bank trail.  

Public Swimming areas include Old Field and Fox Island Beach. The ODNR allows boaters to swim off their boats around Walnut Islands, Red Oak Island, & Oldfield Beach.

Picnickers will enjoy their choice of 8 public picnic areas many accessible by boat. The park offers rental of 5 shelters which includes: Black Hawk Shelter -- Bridge Shelter -- Fox Island Shelter -- Oldfield North Shelter -- Oldfield South Shelter

Indian Lake is an important resting stop for migrating birds. Indian Lake’s wetlands area is important to both birds and furbearing animals. Hunting is permitted in designated areas.
